Born and raised in Janes Vegas (Janesville), Wisconsin. A big sports fan growing up, he played everything from basketball to soccer. He was a music fan early on in life, but only as a listener. After high school, he got a drum kit, took four private lessons and started playing live. A year later, he was accepted at the McNally Smith College of Music, where he graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Music Performance. He hooked up with "Enchanted O'Baka" and the other apes in July 2005, giving the band a steady heartbeat and a renewed sense of groove.
